Do you know the answers to this Archery Quiz?
Yes, I do know the answers -- and I'll even provide some of them. The answers I do not provide should be rather obvious....

1. C -- however, feathers, by definition, are not plastic, but fletchings can be.

2. D -- all of the above, as it is according to the preference of the individual using the bow.

3. D -- as I have seen longbows made of aluminum and steel, as well as wood (and quite a few of fibre-glass - as many of fibre-glass as of wood, actually).

4. B -- if you go according to the "rules". Yet, I have known some very fine left eye dominant archers who held the bow in the left hand -- and the other way 'round.....

5. D -- depending, of course, on the particular region of the country you happen to live/hunt in. Some places are downright repressive regarding bowhunting...

6. D -- prices are all over the board, and depend on the equipment, region, materials, etc. If you have the skills and the tools, good equipment can cost as little as $10....

7. D -- A %26amp; B are correct, it prevents chafing and often gives a smoother release **than bare fingers** (did you forget to include bare fingers in the equation?) AND is sometimes easier to remove than a glove (but not always). I happen to use a glove.

8. Technically...A -- but you can call it whatever you want, really. I call it a waste of a good arrow....

9. A %26amp; C -- but someone was probably bored and just wanted something to do...

10. D -- the "knife tip". The only reason broadheads are called "broadheads" is to differentiate them from target/field/blunt tips; lots of folk call 'em "huntin' points". They all are capable of killing, they're just used for different things.

11. D -- depends entirely on what type target face is being used. I sometimes use a Medieaval-style target face which has a green center....

12. D -- depends on the individual...I know one fella who is a wizard with the longbow -- but couldn't hit Texas with a crossbow (or even a recurve); another fella is a wizard with the crossbow, but has no idea how to even hold the longbow (but he's okay with a recurve...go figger).

13. D -- depends on where the archery is done. In some places it's bowhunting...

14. D -- all of the above...some of those European countries have rather repressive attitudes regarding hunting.

15. D -- again, it depends on which region you happen to live in...

16. Technically...A -- but some folk just call it "puttin' th' arra t' th' string".

17. D -- all of the above. Firearms may have supplanted bows and made them "obsolete" in warfare, but they in no way actually limit the usefulness of archery any more than radio communication "limits" the usefulness of runners on the battlefield; surprise is always extremely useful in battle, and what could be more surprising to the "enemy" than being hit with an arrow in the middle of a "modern" war, especially when they never expect you to even consider using bows and arrows? If a particular weapon is the only viable option for the circumstances, it should be used. A well-tuned bow can be quieter than a "silenced" pistol or rifle....

18. D -- the Mongols AND the Avars...and a few other, less well-known cultures. The Mongols just had better Publicity Agents, is all......

19. D -- whatever point the individual is comfortable drawing to; ine Kyudo, Japanese Archery, the anchor point is often on the right shoulder (normal, or "preferred" anchor) or the right side of the chest (less common). If you can do it comfortably and consistently, and your arrows are long enough for it, even back behind your head is okay -- technically.

20. Technically...A -- but some call it the point, while others call it the tip. Sometimes I call it "The Business End".

Oh, my... Looks like I provided an answer for each question. Well, some of the questions needed more options, regarding possible answers. Interesting how so many needed that "D" answer.....
