I would like to know, what your race is, and if your culture has a sort of cast system.... even if you live in an industrialized country.
To clarify I mean, do you believe that you are superior to others who make less money than you or have less schooling than you.
Not to accuse or generalize I would like to know b/c this relates to a situation that i am in right now at work. Thank you and I appreciated your comments.
A question regarding race/culture?
Elitism (and classism) is everywhere in the world. It comes from human competition for resources, mates, etc. Human societies are social hierarchies, where individuals at the top of the hierarchy dominate (in some fashion) the individuals below them. Most of the time, that domination simply takes the form of body language or subtleties in spoken language. Humans also assert dominance through punishment, which largely explains its predominance in training programs, despite the fact that positive reinforcement is clearly better for teaching new behavior. These dominance behaviors are largely subconscious, meaning most people aren't even aware that they're doing it or know why they're doing it.
Reply:I think that there are good and bad people in all cultures. Money and schooling are irrelevant. I have had good friends from all sorts of cultures. Respect each other for who you are.
Reply:I am a white American, and while we do not have a caste system, we do have a class system.
Reply:I am a white female married to an American Indian male. I personally, do not feel I am superior to anyone. Whether race, education, economic situation or otherwise. I believe we are all made by one God and He created us in His image.
I hope your situation at work, is resolved God's favor.
Reply:I am black. Although I would like to make more money, I do not consider a person that makes less than me, less of a person. Many things can be the cause of making less money. I make more than a school teacher, it does not mean that I am better. I do pride intelligence in people, and you can be intelligent and not have a lot of education.
