Assume the person's eyes are level with the top of the building?

A building 210 feet tall casts a 70 foot long shadow. If a person looks down from the top of the building, what is the measure of the angle between the end of the shadow and the veritcal side of the building (to the nearest degree)? (Assume the person's eyes are level with the top of the building)

a. 18 degrees

b. 19 degrees

c. 72 degrees

d. 71 degrees

Assume the person's eyes are level with the top of the building?
72 degrees or to be precise 71.57 degrees.

See first of all find tan inverse 70/210

Now 90 - (this angle) will give then angle between the vertical side or line of sight of the building and the tip of the shadow

IN short, the angle by which the person looking straight horizontally would have to tilt his head down by, to see the tip of the shadow.
Reply:look into it here.

I'd say c personally
Reply:a

arctan(.333) * 57
Reply:d

no clue

LOL
Reply:dont have a calculator, but take tan^-1 (210/70)
Reply:d. 71 degrees
Reply:The question seems to suggest the angle in question is the vertex at the viewer's position (top of building). This angle is acrtan (70/210) ~ 18.435deg

a. 18 degrees
