Reply:omg you i loove both series, i mostly only read vampire novels, althought its not a vampire novel though i do recomend a great and terrible beauty (has to do with magic but not in a very harry potter type of way), tantalize is a good one, maybe the morgan villevampire series but thats kiiind of more actiony but not really, THE SILVER KISS is amaazzing romantic and a little sad i mean i cried at the end, i hiighly reccomend companions of the night one of the best vampire books i;ve read its got humar action and romance i really liked it. blood and chocolate is a more werewolf novel but extremely good and %100 bnothing like the movie at all. i like the mercy thompson series by patrica briggs, its more more a magical world type thing set in modern day but not cheesey at all, i really like that series.if u find any others that i don't mention tell me about them lol =]
Reply:omg, laurell k hamilton is an awesome author who has a series out about a vampire slayer named anita blake. its like an r rated buffy. its great. she also writes a fairy series with a character named meredith gentry - both are totally awesome. check out her site, you can preview the books there... i love the anita blake series, i'm totally addicted to her writing.

Westerfeld wrote (besides the 'Uglies' [I liked this one] and the 'Midnighters' [ordered it] books) --a vampire novel, 'Peeps,' which I haven't read, but you can check it out at his site through the link above.

At Westerfeld's site, I followed the various links he has posted that lead to books at Amazon about vampires.

The author whose web site is found through the link above write the 'Southern Vampire Mysteries' --a series of 7 books so far, the first being "Dead Until Dark."

I suggest, at her site, that you read the excerpt offered from one of these books to see if you like it.

I thought it was pretty good. I think Westerfeld is a better writer, but this seems a 'lively' book series, at least.

This author's book "The Vampire Tapestry" looks the best to me, so I ordered it too. [Too much to read around here. Almost]. I like the looks of this because it seems more of a 'real' vampire book to me.

You can also read a bit from it; though you should read the reviews as well, esp. from the Washington Post and

other 'biggies' in the review biz, to get a feel for her writing.

Also yes, I did see she has another vampire book out now, of several 'essays'... see what you can see.

Luck to you in your choices from the many answers you'll get--
